Study 001 is an independent methodological application study examining how Forensic STEM™ performs when applied by researchers other than its developer.
Researchers will independently apply the same frozen methodological specification to the same controlled historical evidential condition.
The study examines the analytical process produced by the methodology, including evidence treatment, system reconstruction, uncertainty, explanatory attribution and the preservation of materially viable alternative explanations.
Why this study?
Study 001 asks a deliberately narrower question: what happens when independent researchers are given the methodology and required to use it without substantive guidance from its developer?
Favourable, unfavourable, mixed and indeterminate findings are all legitimate study outcomes.

Study 001 uses a historically bounded evidential condition constructed from records relating to the Post Office Horizon system.
The focal instance is Dungannon, with the primary evidential boundary fixed at 30 March 2001.
Researchers analyse only the authorised historical evidence supplied within the controlled study condition. Later-known information is excluded from primary application.

Study 001 examines:
whether FS-POST-1.0 can be independently executed;
how researchers structure and evaluate evidence;
how competing explanations are identified and treated;
whether materially viable alternatives remain open until evidential discrimination is justified;
how uncertainty is represented;
how researchers reconstruct interactions between individual, technical and organisational conditions; and
where researchers converge or diverge when applying the same methodology to the same evidence.

g² Insight Lab is inviting expressions of interest from independent researchers interested in participating in Study 001.
Participants do not need to belong to a particular academic discipline. Relevant research, analytical, investigative, technical or professional experience may be considered, subject to the study's eligibility and prior-knowledge requirements.
Because Study 001 uses a historically bounded evidence condition, prior knowledge of the focal Horizon material must be assessed before participation.
Do not independently research the focal case before screening if you wish to participate.
