Insight for environments involving children and young people (0–17)
g² Insight Lab provides behavioural risk insight for organisations and communities working with children and young people.
This work focuses on systems, structures, and conditions that increase or reduce safeguarding risk.
It does not assess individuals. It examines environments.
Children and young people are at increased risk wherever adults hold repeated access, authority, trust, or unsupervised contact. Risk escalates when systems rely on assumption, familiarity, or reputation rather than structure and oversight.
Safeguarding failures rarely occur due to lack of care.
They occur when risk is structurally unexamined.
Who This Is For
• School leaders, governors, and trustees
• Nursery owners and senior staff
• Designated safeguarding leads
• Local authorities and community organisations
• Youth and voluntary sector leaders
• Parent groups seeking structural education
This work is preventative, professional, and systems-focused.
Scope
This work applies across all under-18 contexts, including:
• Early years and nurseries
• Primary and secondary schools
• SEND and alternative provision
• Youth and community organisations
• Sports, arts, extracurricular and faith settings
• Any environment where adults supervise minors
The common risk factor is not the setting.
It is power, access, and system design.
The g² Lens
g² Insight Lab approaches safeguarding through a behavioural systems framework.
We examine:
• power concentration and role design
• access patterns and informal permissions
• supervision structures in practice (not just policy)
• lone-working and unsupervised contact risk
• recruitment processes beyond basic checks
• reporting culture and escalation clarity
• overreliance on trust, charisma, or assumed safety
Predatory behaviour does not depend on secrecy alone.
It depends on predictable structural gaps.
For organisations working with under-18s
Support may include:
• safeguarding risk audits (non-investigative)
• review of recruitment and supervision structures
• behavioural risk mapping of roles and access points
• identification of single-point-of-failure vulnerabilities
• recommendations to strengthen transparency and reporting pathways
• system-level insight aligned with statutory safeguarding frameworks
This work strengthens safeguarding before harm occurs.
Boundaries & Ethics
This work does not include:
• investigation of individuals
• assessment of specific allegations
• therapy, counselling, or clinical intervention
• statutory safeguarding decision-making
g² Insight Lab operates at the pre-clinical / pre-legal interface, supporting safer system design, governance clarity, and informed decision-making.
