g² ACADEMY | SIR CORE PROGRAMME
g² ACADEMY | SIR CORE PROGRAMME
The SIR Core Programme is the principal educational programme being developed from g² Insight Lab’s Science of Investigative Reasoning research programme.
It is designed to develop the ability to examine information carefully, reason under uncertainty, consider competing explanations and reach conclusions that remain proportionate to the evidence.
EVIDENCE
Distinguish what is established from what is inferred.
REASONING
Make the route from information to conclusion visible.
REASSESSMENT
Respond appropriately when new information changes the picture.
Investigative reasoning is something you learn to do, not something you memorise.
Programme status: In development.
SIR learning progresses from core investigative principles toward increasingly complex and applied reasoning.
Learners are introduced to ideas, given examples, asked to investigate, challenged on their reasoning and encouraged to revise where the evidence requires it.
The emphasis stays on doing the reasoning, not simply learning terminology.
UNDERSTAND
Build the foundations.
APPLY
Use them on investigative problems.
CHALLENGE
Test the reasoning against alternatives and new information.
Learn. Investigate. Challenge. Reassess.
SIR assessment is designed to test whether learners can use investigative reasoning in practice.
Assessment focuses on whether the learner can:
WORK WITH EVIDENCE
Distinguish what is established from what is assumed or inferred.
EXPLAIN THEIR REASONING
Show how they moved from information toward a conclusion.
RESPOND TO CHALLENGE
Reconsider where new evidence or a stronger explanation requires it.
COMMUNICATE PROPORTIONATELY
Present findings without overstating what the investigation can support.
Completion is based on demonstrated capability, not attendance alone.
The SIR Core Programme is currently in development within g² Academy.
Its curriculum, assessment model and governance are being prepared before formal launch.
Public enrolment is not yet open.
REGISTER INTEREST
People who register interest can be notified when programme information, delivery dates and enrolment become available.
The programme will launch when the educational and governance foundations are ready, not before.
