FLAGSHIP METHODOLOGY
FLAGSHIP METHODOLOGY
Forensic STEM™ is a developing integrative investigative methodology for the structured reconstruction of complex human systems from available evidence.
It brings together established and adapted investigative operations within a defined methodological architecture, with particular attention to evidence, system reconstruction, competing explanations, uncertainty and revision.
Forensic STEM™ is developed principally within the Complex Human Systems research programme while drawing upon Philosophy of Inquiry and Science of Investigative Reasoning.
STRUCTURE
Investigation is organised through an explicit methodological framework.
EVIDENCE
Claims remain tied to the evidence available to support them.
REVISION
Conclusions remain open to challenge and change when the evidence changes.
The aim is not certainty at any cost, but conclusions that remain proportionate to the evidence.
Forensic STEM™ has moved beyond initial concept development and now operates from a defined post-comparative specification.
Its current operative specification is FS-POST-1.0, which sets out the present methodological form used for prospective investigation.
The methodology is currently classified as a developing integrative investigative methodology. Its novelty, validity, reliability, comparative effectiveness and generalisability have not yet been established. Those questions remain part of the continuing research programme.
Current status: Developing methodology
Operative specification: FS-POST-1.0
Research phase: Independent challenge and future empirical testing
Specification is complete enough to test. Validation is the next scientific problem.
Forensic STEM™ is supported by a developing formal research record documenting its conceptual development, comparative examination and current methodological position.
The current record includes:
Working Paper No. 001 v4.0
The Methodology of Forensic STEM™
White Papers 001–006
Covering human systems, observation, system reconstruction, methodological validation, applied demonstration and comparative positioning.
FS-POST-1.0
Post-Comparative Methodological Specification
Historical versions are retained as part of the research record rather than silently overwritten, allowing the development of the methodology to remain visible and auditable.
The next phase of Forensic STEM™ research is focused on challenge, testing and methodological evaluation rather than further expansion of the concept.
Future work will examine the methodology’s reliability, analytical consequences, reproducibility, transferability and comparative utility through structured research and independent scrutiny.
The methodology will continue to develop through governed research, revision and publication as evidence accumulates.
Current research priority: independent methodological challenge and subsequent empirical testing.
The methodology is not treated as proven because it exists. It must earn its claims through testing.
Forensic STEM™ sits principally within the Complex Human Systems research programme, while drawing on the other two research programmes.
Philosophy of Inquiry informs questions of evidence, inference and uncertainty.
Science of Investigative Reasoning informs the structure of investigation itself.
Complex Human Systems provides the systems-focused context in which the methodology is applied.
Forensic STEM™ therefore acts as a point of integration across the wider g² research architecture, without replacing the distinct role of any one programme.
Forensic STEM™ is a developing methodology under active research.
Its current operative specification is FS-POST-1.0, and the next phase centres on independent challenge, methodological evaluation and empirical testing.
Claims concerning reliability, validity, comparative effectiveness, transferability and generalisability remain open research questions.
